I had a very enjoyable morning working with Lalanga again - doing two more lesson observations - one history lesson and one English literature lesson. I enjoyed the English literature lesson very much, as it was always my favourite subject at school - right through to doing English 'A' Level. I might even have studied English at university, but I was quite a slow reader, so I didn't think I would be able to get through the volume of reading needed quickly enough.
I had an early lunch, followed by a meeting with two of the Administration team, which was very revealing. I then had a bit of a disaster of an afternoon, as the two lesson observations I was supposed to do then didn't happen, which I found rather frustrating. I had a little chat with someone about it, but I wasn't able to catch Ravi, as he is simply snowed under, and has to prepare for a rather difficult meeting tomorrow, so it was best not to bother him.
I came back to the apartment - I was here by 15:00, and I took an afternoon nap, which I have found very helpful in this heat. The bedroom that I sleep in here now has air conditioning (the other one already had it) and it has made a huge difference to how well I sleep, so I am very grateful for that. I certainly wasn't short of time today in terms of completing my diary and my blog, although I think it is a bit less interesting now, and the number of viewers is dropping off.
Since going to visit Anthony on Sunday afternoon, I have seen no one after school is over, apart from Razeena when I go for dinner, and that has got me down a bit, but tomorrow will be different, as Dinura's family have invited me for dinner, and I then have the weekend in Galle to look forward to. I have started to really look forward to going home again now, as it is so much lonelier here in Kurunegala than it was in the Hill Country, and I really miss having company.
Today's photographs show my lesson observations with Lalanga today.
