We were up fairly early at Selyna's house and, after a quick breakfast of pancakes and coffee, we said our goodbyes and Sandra gave us a lift to The Swimming Club. We were far too early to check in, but we were able to leave our bags and take a cab to One Galle Face, which is a huge shopping mall, that is on the expensive side, but it does offer a huge variety of shops to purchase a few last minute items - especially one or two Christmas gifts for people back home.

We had arranged to meet Menaka and Manika, twin sisters who volunteer on my native English-speakers team, at House of Fashions at 12:30, so we went there by tuk-tuk, and did a bit more shopping whilst we waited for them. 12:30 came and went, and it was close on 13:00 when they said they had arrived. but I couldn't see them anywhere, as unfortunately they hadn't told us that there were two House of Fashions in Colombo, nowhere close to each other!

We ended up getting another tuk-tuk to the House of Fashions where we were supposed to meet them, and then had a lovely time with them, as they are both such great characters. We wanted to just have coffee and cake with them, but they were very insistent that we should have some lunch with them, so we ended up having a very pleasant time with them over lunch, and we were glad we did that in the end, as we were quite hungry by then.

We said our goodbyes to the lovely twins, then we got a cab back to The Swimming Club, where we were joined soon after by Sandra, for our last evening with her. We sat having a drink with her and chatting until Ravi arrived eventually, and we ate a simple evening meal together (some lovely chicken wraps). All too soon it was time to say a final goodbye to Sandra and Ravi, and we were both sad that our lovely 2 months with them had come to an end.

Today's photos are a couple at One Galle Face, and the rest of the fun time that we had with Menaka and Manika, who were a delight to be with, as we laughed so much the whole time we were with them.

  2. 'Charles & Keith' certainly looks 'a bit on the expensive side', but does the fact it is still solvent mean the top-end tourist trade is booming again?! What lovely smiles the twins have...
