It all gets a bit manic at the end here, as I am trying to tie up lots of loose ends, whilst also sorting out very practical stuff. For example, I had to fit in a final clothes wash yesterday, and I also spent time writing thank you cards to various people who have helped me. I completed the ironing of those clothes today, and I also delivered the thank you cards in person, including, of course to Razeena next door who has provided me with breakfast and an evening meal on weekdays.
I had three meeting today - two final discussions with Lalanga and Priyani, the Sectional Heads I have been working closely with. This was followed by another meeting with the Managing Director that again turned into a further scrutiny of students' books to address concerns about them. I will get the opportunity to have a proper meeting with him tomorrow where we can discuss the outcomes of the work that I have done this time and whether I will return in 2027.
I have particularly enjoyed working closely with the Sectional Heads, and the three 'special' training sessions that I undertook with the mystery person who I cannot name in my blog, for fear of divulging information that has yet to be officially released. I work at such a high level within the school that I am party to certain pieces of information that I have to be very careful to keep to myself, but that was the same when I was a Headteacher, so I am used to that.
I had an interesting evening where I accompanied Madam Sandra on a trip to see some very long-standing old friends of hers - Sri Lankans who emigrated to Canada and only live here for a few months each year. She has just completed some important legal work for, so it needed signing. I enjoyed the drive out there as night fell, but it was very dark by the time we got there, and it took a while to find their house. It was almost 21:00 by the time we got back to Kurunegala.
I took no additional photographs today, so today's photographs are four that I took at the top of Elephant Rock yesterday evening, with the common theme of 'monkey business'.

The combination of monkey silhouettes with the presence of a mystery figure at the school could perhaps provide the setting for your first novel, Keith?
