I have arrived at the final day at the Royal International School, and it was basically one long wrap-up session, firstly with Lalanga, who brought Priyani to my office, as they wanted to present me a gift of two books and a thank you card, which was extremely kind of them. I then had my final session with Lalanga, where I went through the Eisenhower Grid with him in order to give him a very clear strategy for time management, as it was a tool that I found helpful as a Headteacher.
I then had a long debriefing session with Ravi, Buddhika, and three older guys who act like consultants for the school, with two of them taking over the mentoring roles for Priyani and Lalanga from next week. Having to review all that I had done with them was very self-affirming for me, as I was astonished how much ground I had covered with them over the past four weeks. I know that I have had a positive impact at the Royal International School, which is most reassuring.
It was back to the apartment then for packing up all my stuff. There is one large suitcase with all my school clothes and other stuff that I am leaving with Ragu when I see him at the weekend, so that he can take it up to Norwood the next time he goes. The rest of my stuff now fits into one less suitcase than I came with, so my smallest suitcase is packed inside the middle-sized one, and I should easily be within the baggage allowance for the weight of my luggage.
In the evening it was party time at Sandra's daughter's lovely home, which is next door to Sandra's. Ravi was there, as was Sandra's brother, Hilary, and his wife, Seemanthi. Selyna loves karaoke, and she got a state-of-the-art karaoke machine a while back, so there was some singing before we enjoyed a lovely meal together. It was a fitting end to what has been another very successful time for me supporting the Royal International School in Kurunegala.
Today's photos are just a few from this evening's social event.

Well done Keith. It sounds as if this part of your visit has been really successful. I hope your return travel plans are not disrupted too much as a result of what is going on in Iran and the Middle East.
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate the school is to have benefitted from another chunk of your time and wisdom. The first photo suggests Madam Sandra is very happy to have you as a personal friend, as well as a professional colleague. Safe journey home, my friend.
