I had a whole day full of double Maths lessons today, which as you will already know from my blog is a delight for me, although teaching in temperatures of 35 degrees is pretty challenging. I haven't provided you with any photographic evidence yet that I have been teaching these double Maths lessons, but today I remembered at last to ask the teacher to take a few photographs of me whilst I was teaching about Roman numerals to a Grade 3 class (Year 4 in the UK).

Having taught the Maths lessons, I then discussed each lesson with the class teacher, and it's always interesting to see their perspective on what they noticed about the lesson and how their students responded to it. Dinura, the Head Boy , also popped in to see me at lunchtime, and I was very pleased that he had started to address the issues that we covered last week in his Action Plan. He informed me that his parents would like to meet me before I go back to the UK.

My last appointment of the day was a chat with Madonna, our visitor from Texas, USA, which was very interesting, as she has a lot of experience as an Occupational Therapist, and I think she may return to the Royal International School to volunteer again at some point in the future. I went back to the apartment to catch up with a few things, including my emails, only to find that the Internet wasn't working, so I then had to make a couple of phone calls to sort that out.

I managed to get the Internet connection sorted, but then found that the cursor on my new laptop has gone berserk for some reason. I tried cleaning the touch pad but that didn't sort the problem out, so I will have to take it to the IT guys tomorrow morning to get them to fix it. This was a very annoying problem to have with a brand-new laptop, but fortunately, I was still able to use my old laptop this evening, which meant that I could at least complete today's blog.

Today's photographs are all from the Maths lesson on Roman numerals that I taught today.

  1. Some of us would struggle to teach Maths at all - let alone Roman Maths! How lovely that Dinura wants to introduce you to his parents...
