We had been told that we would both be at Tea Leaf Centre Nuwara Eliya for today, tomorrow and Friday, and we had asked to be able to rest a little this morning, sort out a few things in town, and get to the Tea Leaf Centre, which is in Nanu Oya around 12:00, where I would then have a scheduled online meeting with James at 14:30. However, we got a message from Jesmin asking us to go to Blackpool to meet with Yad at 12:00, which I must say didn't surprise me at all!
In the end, when Yad found out about my meeting with James, she decided to meet up with us at 10:00 tomorrow instead, so Isabelle still went off into town to sort a few things out, whilst I spent the morning catching up on my work as Volunteer Coordinator, which was in essence a preparation for my online meeting with James at 14:30. That meeting was scheduled for 1 hour, but there was so much to cover that it ended up being nearly 2 hours, but it was extremely productive.
It was such a long meeting because James has, in effect, become my line manager now, as he has recently taken on a full-time role with Tea Leaf Trust. We are working together to develop Tea Leaf Trust's Volunteer Programme, so we discussed that, as well as the glut of recent volunteer enquiries. James had also produced a draft plan for my time with Tea Leaf over the next month, instead of just working it out as I go along, and I am very grateful to him for that.
Having had a rather extended meeting with James, I didn't meet my friend Donald at 15:30, as arranged but postponed it until tomorrow lunchtime. I decided to stay at Sky Heaven and carry on with some work, before taking a break for dinner. We ate in this evening, but it was a takeaway that Krishan fetched from Milano's. Krishan, who manages Sky Heaven, supported by his brother Wasantha, has been incredibly helpful, and Isabelle and I really appreciate him.
Todays photos are views of my 'office' at Sky Heaven (in the dining room) and the amazing views I have from there, plus one of me in my room in the evening, and a 'selfie' Krishan took because he really likes what I've done with my room!
The domestic accommodation looks clean and tidy, Keith, and the views are heavenly!
