Our relaxing weekend continued today, although we both skipped breakfast, as we ate and drank far too much last night (which was completely self-inflicted, so no complaints there, as it was a wonderful meal!). I felt so full this morning that I couldn't possibly have faced breakfast, and just stuck to a few cups of coffee. Erica went off to mass in Tangalle with Shanthi, one of the two ladies who works for her, and didn't get back until after 10:30.

As soon as Erica returned, we rushed off to Realene's house, as she had invited us for coffee and her version of mince pies, although we had already had sufficient coffee by then, so we went straight onto white wine! I love Raelene's home, as she is an artist, and her beautiful paintings are hung all over the place. Her house is also situated more in the jungle, so her garden is very interesting, and she deliberately attracts all sorts of local birds and small creatures.

The five of us (including Raelene's friend Bonnie) crammed into Erica's car and went out for lunch at a delightful place by the Indian Ocean called Aga Surf View. We sat upstairs, where you get a great view of what is clearly a good surfing beach (hence the name), and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch. We dropped Raelene and Bonnie off, then Erica took us along the ocean road to show us what it was like, which made an interesting journey back to Erica's.

Back at Erica's, there was more resting, with both of us having a nap, and Valerie then having a final swim. We had wine and nibbles, before feasting on cheese toasties, with a few leftovers from last night. This weekend has been just what we both needed in terms of having a great time of rest and relaxation in a beautiful home, with wonderful food, and excellent company. I already have an invitation to stay at either Erica's or Raelene's on my next trip to Sri Lanka in January!

Today's photographs show our time at Raelene's, our lovely lunch at Aga Surf View, plus one of Erica and Valerie enjoying wine and nibbles.
