I had another very good day today, which started with a meeting with Tim and Jesmin to look at Tea Leaf's volunteers programme and how we can manage the whole process more effectively. We have had some great volunteers in January, who have each contributed to the work of Tea Leaf in their own unique way, and we want to ensure we work with future volunteers in a way that gives them a great experience, whilst making the best use of the skills that they have to offer.

Chooty then took Miggy and me to GROW, where Donald and Ladushan were holding an Induction Morning for new students, and Miggy and Stephanie were then going to interview Donald as one of many successful alumnae who has started up his own business. There was a good gathering of prospective students, many with their parents, and they got a good take-up from the event. I believe Miggy and Stephanie also had a good interview with Donald.

From my point of view, it is great to see Tea Leaf staff that I first met in 2019, who have moved on to start up their own business, and to see that business flourishing. I have followed their progress since 2019, supporting them along the way as much as I could, and I know that they are very grateful for the knowledge and skills they acquired through their time with Tea Leaf, which has been a strong foundation for the next phase of their career development.

I walked from GROW to The Grand Hotel where I waited for a couple of hours for Ram, an Indian Tamil living in the USA. He is a philanthropist who supports the work of Tea Leaf, and particularly the new Tea Leaf Centre in Pussellawa, which has its official opening this Saturday. He was with four friends, and he wanted to have a late lunch at the Thai Restaurant, which was an extremely pleasant setting for us to have a good catch-up over a delicious meal.

Today's photos are from the Induction Morning at GROW, with a couple taken during lunch with Ram and his friends at the Thai Restaurant this afternoon. 1. Good to see you back at the Grand, and well done for your contribution to the January edition of Tea Leaf Times - I love the photo of the tea worker looking up at the camera.
