It is quite late in the evening, but I am determined to sort out today's blog, as I head off to Norwood tomorrow, to celebrate Thai Pongal with Daya's family, and I am unlikely to have any internet for a couple of days, so you won't hear from me, and I will have to catch up on my return to Blackpool on Tuesday. Having said that, I am looking forward to going, as I haven't seen Daya yet, and knowing him as well as I do, this may be the only time that I see him on this visit.

I had to have a rest today after this week's exertions. I slept in very late, and lounged around for a long time, desperately trying to extend my 30-day visa for another 30 days. You are supposed to be able to do this online, to avoid having to go to Colombo in person to sort it out, but believe me they don't make it easy, as you have to upload your passport photograph, and a copy of your passport, but you have to compress the photos down first!

Having eventually worked out how to compress my photos down (it took me an age!), I think I have managed to extend my visa online, which, believe me, will be a godsend, as the last thing you want to do is to travel to Colombo to extend your visa. I did that once in 2019, and I said 'never again'! I eventually went into Nuwara Eliya to purchase a bigger rucksack, as I needed one for going away for weekends, as you cannot really take a suitcase on a bus!

Having purchased a very cheap (less than £10.00), but pretty reasonable quality looking rucksack, I headed back to Blackpool for what turned out to be a rather dull evening. I decided to get an early night, and get up very early tomorrow, in order to arrive at Daya's place in good time to meet his brother Ragu, as we intend to spend the afternoon at Gartmore Falls, and if that happens, there should be some lovely photographs in tomorrow's blog!

Today's photos are lovely shots of Blackpool on my way out this afternoon, and again at dusk, including Ranger in the sandpit (they are doing a lot of building work in the house at the moment). Ranger rolls around in the sand and then comes in and lies on the blue rug in my room, which then gets extremely sandy! I find it hard to be annoyed with him, because he is so adorable!
