I slept very badly last night, as my condition worsened, and I woke up this morning feeling dreadful. I was supposed to go into school with Daya today to do some staff training with the teachers, but there was no way that I felt well enough to do that. He very kindly brought me a cup of tea in around 08:00 and I told him I would have to rest at home today, otherwise I would be in danger of making myself really ill.
I spent most of the morning in bed. Yad brought me some pongal to eat - not the sweet, sticky celebratory pongal, but a savoury version that she told me would be good for me! It tasted okay, so I ate it, with a cup of hot water, and I was extremely grateful for it. Jana brought me some 'short eats' in a paper bag for lunch, and then reappeared later on in the afternoon with a bit of cake, so I was extremely well looked after.
I checked in on the Australian Open Tennis Championships, and I followed a brilliant first round match, where Andy Murray saved a match point in the fifth set, before clinching an amazing victory against the Italian 13th seed Matteo Berrettini 10-7 in a final set tie break. I must say that cheered me up, and I felt well enough by the end of the match to have a shower and get dressed, although I was coughing and sneezing all over the place.
So, what to do in the afternoon? I obviously took advantage of this extra bit of time to sort out all my photographs from the weekend and complete my blog and my diary, which have been impossible to do over the weekend without any internet access for my laptop! I was a bit slow getting it done, but I did manage to complete it all, so it was great to feel that I have now caught up with everything at last!
Today's photos show the pongal Yad brought me to eat this morning, which was honestly more tasty than it looks, and the chicken curry, sambal and roti that Meena cooked me this evening. I have also included a few extra photos from the last 3 days, as I had saved 43 photos, and you have only seen 26 of them.
Get well soon Keith, thinking of you and keep up with the good work. Best wishes from freezing cold Bath, Thomas
