After a very full-on day yesterday, I decided to work from home today, and I manged to finish my Lessons Observations Report, a piece of work I have been doing for Tea Leaf Vision. It was quite sunny at times this morning, but it deteriorated in the afternoon, with a thick mist descending so low that you could barely see anything and making it chilly enough to have to put a jacket on to keep warm.
Despite the mist descending so low, it wasn't raining, so I thought I would take a short walk around the house and take a few photographs. To my surprise Ranger followed me and he seemed to enjoy showing me around the area - walking past Blackpool Cemetery, which looks very overgrown now. It wasn't long before it did start to rain, so we had to return to the house quite quickly.
On returning to the house, it started to pour down with rain, and then we had a power cut for a couple of hours, so it really was quite depressing. It was getting dark by then anyway, so we were sat in the dark in the pouring rain, but I still felt quite motivated to work, and it was then that I completed my Lessons Observations Report, which I had been wanting to finish for a while.
We ate quite late in the end, and I am very fortunate, as I have moved on from one good cook to another. Yad's mother Meena is a great cook, and I have particularly enjoyed the delicious soups that she makes. Sri Lankan food is certainly to be recommended if you ever get the chance to try it. I felt quite tired after dinner, so I went to bed to write up my blog and do my diary before going to sleep.
Glad to hear you have a canine friend who is able to guide you round your neighbourhood. The ups and downs in the weather must be reminiscent of England, whilst you may remember the 3-day week introduced by the Heath government in the early 70's as a result of industrial action by coal miners. Of course, the causes of Sri Lanka's power cuts are altogether more alarming.
