The school was closed again today, although a few of the managers were in, as well as the KNH team, so I went into school too. I had a very good chat with Chan and Uma about a Teacher Training Programme for their alumnae, although it was bit tricky, as I was unsure about the time frames they were considering. However, we can clarify the details later I expect.
I completed my Monitoring and Evaluation Report for the Rotary International Project today - as much as I was able to - I still must wait for Gobi to give me the Aptis test results from this latest cohort in a few days' time. I am very pleased with the document - I have certainly put a great deal of work into it, as it will be very useful for promoting the work of Bathavon Rotary Club and Tea Leaf Vision.
After the beautiful weather this weekend, we were back to a dull, rainy day, and to make matters worse, the power cuts returned. We haven't had any power cuts for days, and then today we had one this afternoon, and another one this evening - both about 2 hours long. I will have to get used to them all over again now! It does make you appreciate having electricity whenever you want it!
There are no new pictures today, as I did not take any! I am trawling through the hundreds of images I have already and picking out some of my favourite ones. When I did this last Tuesday, I featured some of my favourite people, so today I am going for pictures that represent enjoyable times from my first week in Sri Lanka, which seems such a very long time ago now.
N.B. They are all night views of Nuwara Eliya, as I miss it so much! I have been in Maskeliya for 6 weeks now, and I have never been out in the evening, as there is just nowhere to go after dark! However, watch this space, because my days in Maskeliya are coming to an end! I am so excited!
Glad to learn you may experience a second chapter to your visit, Keith. I can imagine the end of the monsoons will be an opportune moment to move on and see another part of the country.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I would happily cease if the daily comments I post were having the effect of dissuading others from chipping in?!
