What a strange old day it was today! I went into school expecting to say goodbye to all the staff, but they had all been told to work from home today due to transport issues. It was no great surprise, of course! Uma and Humaira were in, together with the KNH team of staff, so I spent the morning with them, and we took some photos before I left mid-afternoon. It was a very quiet time in school today!

Aruni, from the KNH team, found a couple of baby chipmunks (they call them squirrels, and they are from the squirrel family) that had fallen with their nest from a tree. She has been looking after them for a few days now, but one hasn't made it. The remaining one looks reasonably healthy, but I don't know what its long-term chances are, as it will not be an easy task to hand-rear it successfully.

The KNH team wanted to take some 'goodbye' photos with me, but it was very sunny, and we all look very serious in the first one, as we were squinting in the sun. The second one, with just the ladies, looks a bit better, although everyone seems to be looking in different directions! I have greatly enjoyed following the KNH project and getting to know the team a bit, as it is such a worthwhile project.

I went into Maskeliya to deliver a couple of thank you cards to people and buy a few gifts for the family I have been staying with for the past 7 weeks, although I didn't manage to get everything I was hoping to get, so I will have to pop back in tomorrow. I bumped into Mr. Rizvi at the mosque, so we went for a farewell cup of tea. It has been such a pleasure to get to know him during my time in Maskeliya.
