I promised you a better blog today, and from a personal point of view, I have enjoyed today, even though the curfew has continued, and will continue over the weekend. For the next three days, you are not allowed out after 14:00, and the curfew remains in place until 07:00 the next morning. I have no idea if things will start to get back to normal from next Monday, but I somehow doubt it.
Many of you may have been following events here in Sri Lanka on the news, but I have posted two links below today for anyone interested in obtaining a bit of the background on what is happening here. The first link is from the BBC I think, and the second one, which I would equally recommend, is The Washington Post's take on the current political situation here (a little nod to my American friends!).
I had plenty of paperwork to do today (courtesy of Yad), so that kept me busy. I also had a very good Zoom call with my good friend Peter Hopwood this afternoon. It was lovely to catch up with him, and the intimacy of a Zoom call still amazes me, as even though we were thousands of miles apart it felt like we were chatting away in the same room. It was one of my highlights today that's for sure!
In terms of today's photos, they are of people. There are some shots of Lasanthi with her eldest daughter Yehani (Jenny), her son Chamod, and the two younger girls - Maai and Ahinsa. There is also Artem, a yoga teacher from Poltava in Ukraine, who arrived here via Egypt and Portugal, so he was miles away from home when the war broke out. He has been great company here, especially at mealtimes.

Keith, I so enjoy your blog but because Julie and I have been travelling in the last few days I had to catch up on all the recent instalments and decided it was best not to attribute my comments… Please forgive me if they were a little trite…
