Today was like a Bank Holiday Monday, and it was rather nice for me again, as there was much less rain today and no power cuts. I ventured out to my local shop (on the other side of the bridge) to buy a couple of their little yoghurt pots for lunch. On the way back I took photographs of the river, which has risen a lot with all the rain that we have had. The lush vegetation is extremely dense and very beautiful.

I had done some washing the other day, and it had dried enough for me to iron it whilst listening to some music (and having a sing of course - I cannot truly enjoy life without singing). My good friend Gundu came to visit me. He stood in the doorway for a while, then sauntered in and lay on the floor. I can see why dogs are such good company for people. I certainly enjoy the three dogs that are here.

I had a good chat with Yad this afternoon, and she sent me quite a lot of work to edit for her, which I am extremely happy to do. Leading Tea Leaf Vision is a huge responsibility for her in these troubled times. It was always a tough job, but the current state of the nation has made it an even tougher one, as the downturn of the economy has had a disproportionate effect on the poor community in this area.

Gobi messaged me tonight to tell me we would be making Government School visits tomorrow, and it was like having an amazing Christmas present in the middle of May! I have been cooped up here for so many days now, and I simply cannot wait to get on with the work that I came out to do. Gobi feels the same, and we have agreed to have a fun time together tomorrow even if it pours with rain all day!
