Having not been able to climb Adam’s Peak after all, Donald and Ramesh
had arranged to pick me up at 09:00 to do a tour of all of the interesting
places in the area, but they didn’t appear, which is not unusual for Sri Lanka,
so I gave them an hour before I rang Donald! There had been a typical Sri Lankan thing going on, which is far too complicated to explain here, but I am so used to now it is like water off a duck's back to me (try explaining that idiom to people here!). I don't think I was that patient when I came to Sri Lanka, but I have certainly had to learn to be here, otherwise I would have been extremely frustrated on an almost daily basis!
Donald and Ramesh eventually turned up at 11:30 and we then had a much
shorter tour than intended (including a brief stop at a beautiful old Anglican chapel), although it was still very enjoyable and finished
with a nice lunch in Dickoya. Donald was dropped off somewhere for a
martial arts class and Ramesh had to head off to Maskeliya to pick up Jesmin
and Leanne. He arranged to return to pick me up at around 06:00 tomorrow
morning to take me back to Nuwara Eliya.
Today's photos are some lovely views from the short tour I had with Donald and Ramesh. They call this part of Sri Lanka 'Up-Country' and it is stunningly beautiful. The photographs probably don't do it justice!
