Saturday 9th November 2019

I decided to go to Ella for the weekend, as I am running out of time now! I would have gone sooner had the weather been better, but the constant rain put me off. I arranged a lift with Reggie and booked a two-night stay at a Guest House called Ella Waterfall View. On the journey here, we stopped off to visit a Buddhist Temple that has amazing views over the surrounding area.

On our arrival at our destination, I was bowled over with just how beautiful it was. There is a stunning view of the waterfall and the surrounding area from the room I am staying in. I didn’t venture far this afternoon, as I was still very tired from the past week’s travelling. This is going to be a relaxing weekend away for me, with the emphasis on rest and recuperation in what must be one of the most beautiful spots in Sri Lanka. The owners of this Guest House run their own restaurant, so I ate here this evening and it was one of the best meals I have had during my time in Sri Lanka.

Today's pictures are of the Buddhist Temple we visited on the way here and the view of the waterfall from my room. (More pictures of Ella tomorrow).

  1. Dear Keith

I am continuing to enjoy reading your daily blog and learning about your adventures and occasional mishaps!

On your return to the UK and after you have had a chance to recover, we would like you to give a talk to the club on your trip. There are two gaps in January on the 23rd and 30th and I wonder whether either of these would be suitable for you?

    Regards

    Roland

    1. Hi Roland! Thank you so much for reading my Blog. Of course, I would be very happy to talk to the Club about my time in Sri Lanka. I haven't planned anything yet for 2020, so either 23rd or 30th January should be fine for me. Please just choose one of the dates and let me know which it is and also how long I will have, as there is a huge amount to condense down into a short talk! I will try to do a PowerPoint Presentation with lots of photographs (if I can remember how to do one!). Best wishes, Keith
