I got a normal-sized bus back to Nuwara Eliya. It was the 08:30 bus, but it didn’t actually leave until 09:00 and it also took a bit
longer, not getting into Nuwara Eliya until just before 15:00. However, it was
even cheaper, at only 400 Sri Lankan Rupees (about £2) and I was surprised to
find it a bit more comfortable than the small coach I came on, as it wasn’t so
cramped. It was lovely climbing back up to this beautiful hilly region.
I feel relieved to back in Nuwara
Eliya. Going to Colombo to extend my visa was a very interesting experience,
but I am very glad not to be based there and I doubt that I will return to
Colombo again before I return home in December.
Today's photographs are a continuation of yesterday's from my tour of Colombo. They show the Gangaramaya (Vihara) Temple and The Temple on the Lake, which is close by. They also show a picture of Ismail with his tuk-tuk, I doubt if I will be spending any longer in any other tuk-tuk during my time here!
