Well what an amazing day today was! I went to Nuwara Eliya School for the first time in a few days and had a really good morning there. I was helping four of the teachers with their Teacher Knowledge Test (Module 2), which they are going to be taking tomorrow in Kandy. I At break time I took a picture of a crow that was scavenging through the rubbish bins at the back of the school (see photo below).

On the way home from school I came across two stray ponies just wandering round the town. I have seen hundreds of dogs roaming around everywhere, but the ponies was a new one for me (see photos below). I was doing some shopping and explored some back streets that I hadn't been along before and I came across a shop selling tropical fish, where a grandfather was minding the shop, as well as looking after his grandson. I chatted to them both for a bit and took their photograph.

My housemate Rachelle, who has been ill with a fever all week, went to see the doctor and he sent here to Nuwara Eliya Hospital to be tested for suspected Dengue Fever, which you can get if you are bitten by a mosquito carrying the disease (apparently, only the female mosquitoes carry it, but I wouldn't know if it was a male or female mosquito biting me!) She may have picked this up in Colombo, as she went to renew her visa there and stayed in a couple of very grotty hostels, one of which had loads of mosquitoes. She may have to stay in hospital for a couple of days or more, so I visited her this evening and took her some food and water, as neither are provided by the hospital. I will be visiting her again tomorrow.
